Other than that, though, Ken looks like a bit of a mess, earning him nicknames such as “washed-up Ken” and “divorced Ken” among speculators on the Interwebs. In a nod to series fans, sharp-eyed observers will notice that Ken is using his yellow sparring gloves first seen in the Street Fighter Alpha series. It’s like “Garou: Mark of the Wolves” Terry woke up in a daze and accidentally grabbed some red sweatpants and Timberland hiking boots from the floor before heading out. National Fighting Champion and once-wealthy scion of the Masters family now sports a more slobby appearance marked by mismatched clothes and a 5 o’clock shadow to boot. Gone is the clean-looking fighter from previous games. Unlike his previous appearances, however, Ken looks much different in Street Fighter 6. The addition of Ken continues a decades-long streak for the character, who was one of the original fighters to debut in the first Street Fighter game in 1987. Ken has long served as the fiery and flamboyant counterpart to his best friend and fellow Shotokan practitioner Ryu and his more flashy nature was reflected in his red karate gi as well as his over-the-top martial arts moves. Ken was officially announced today at the Tokyo Game Show as one of four new classic characters being added to the Street Fighter 6 roster, alongside other old-school fan favorites Blanka, Dhalsim and E. Ken Masters was finally unveiled for Street Fighter 6 and, well, it looks like our boy has been through some stuff.
